From June 07, 2026 11:00 am until June 07, 2026 12:00 pmAt Messiah Of The Mountains Lutheran Church Categories: Holiday ServicesWe are a small church, but big on Grace. We gather each Sunday at 11:00 am for worship by singing hymns, hearing readings from the bible, praying together and a celebration of Holy Communion. Communion is the spiritual bread our bodies need to live. All are invited to join us at the Lord's table to be fed by his heavenly food, There are no strangers in God’s house, and if you choose to worship with us, we would be honored by your presence. Introduction Though Jesus was a devout Jew who practiced his faith, he was criticized for eating with tax collectors and sinners—the religiously nonobservant. Jesus criticizes the self-righteous and reminds us that mercy is to be at the heart of our religious practices. God continues to be made known in those on the margins of society, like Matthew the tax collector and the hemorrhaging woman. As we gather each Lord’s day we receive the healing that makes us well and sends us forth to be signs of God’s mercy for the world. -

Please contribute if possible. Feed-A-Child Yancey County was founded in the Fall of 2007 by Robert and Glenda Wyatt to provide healthy snacks for kids who need food over the weekends. Volunteers pack and deliver the snacks to the schools that have identified children in need. The schools send the bags home with the children on Fridays.
