 lict is a part of relationships and life in community. Jesus’ words in tod
 ay's gospel are often used in situations having to do with church discipli
 ne. The prophet Ezekiel tells of warning the wicked to turn from their way
 s\, and Paul reminds us that love is the fulfilling of the law. We gather 
 in the name of Christ\, assured that he is present among us with gifts of 
 peace and reconciliation.\nPrayer of the Day\nO Lord God\, enliven and pre
 serve your church with your perpetual mercy. Without your help\, we mortal
 s will fail\; remove far from us everything that is harmful\, and lead us 
 toward all that gives life and salvation\, through Jesus Christ\, our Savi
 or and Lord.\n \nAmen.\n \nFirst Reading: Ezekiel 33:7-11\nGod appointed E
 zekiel as a sentinel for the house of Israel. Ezekiel must faithfully conv
 ey God’s warnings to the people. Remarkably\, God—who is about to attack J
 erusalem—gives a warning with the hope that repentance will make the attac

 istians is to love one another and so fulfill the heart and goal of the la

 oday in light of the future God has in store for us.\n \nGospel:  Matthew 
 18:15-20\nJesus offers practical advice to his disciples on how individual
 s—and the church as a whole—should go about restoring relationships when o
 ne member has sinned against another. [Jesus said to the disciples:]\n15 “
 If your brother or sister sins against you\, go and point out the fault wh
 en the two of you are alone. If you are listened to\, you have regained th
 at one.\n16  But if you are not listened to\, take one or two others along
  with you\, so that every word may be confirmed by the evidence of two or 
 three witnesses.\n17  If that person refuses to listen to them\, tell it t
 o the church\, and if the offender refuses to listen even to the church\, 
 let such a one be to you as a gentile and a tax collector.\n18  Truly I te
 ll you\, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven\, and whatever
  you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.\n19  Again\, truly I tell yo
 u\, if two of you agree on earth about anything you ask\, it will be done 
 for you by my Father in heaven.\n20  For where two or three are gathered i
 n my name\, I am there among them.”\n \nAfter the Sermon\, Holy Communion 
 will be offered. Come as you are\, the gift of the Table of the Lord has b
 een prepared as Jesus has requested and now we are invited to the meal. Co
 me to the table like Peter\, with m ore enthusiasm than resolve and like J
 ames and John\, disappointed and the priorities of God’s reign. Come to th
 e table like Martha\, hosting and leading with confidence like Mary\, full
  of love and grief. Come to the table like Judas\, disillusioned and rebel
 lious and like Mary Magdalene\, faithful till the end. Come to the table\,
  because it is God who invites us and it’s God’s will that those who want 
 to should meet God here.\nBlessing for the day (Our blessing is an adaptat

 swers\, half truths and superficial leaderships so that we may live out Go

 or those who suffer from pain\, rejection\, hunger and war so that we may 
 reach out with hands and hearts to help them\, walk with them and turn the
 ir pain into hope and joy.\nAnd may God bless us with enough foolishness t
 o believe that we can make a difference in this world\, so that we can do 
 what others claim cannot be done. To bring justice\, peace\, hope and love
  to all children\, the poor and all others in any need.\nGod be your comfo
 rt\, your strength\;\nGod be your hope and support\;\nGod be your light an
 d your way\; and the blessing of God Creator\, Redeemer and Giver of Life\
